how do you make sex better in a 3 year serious relationship?

i have been with my boyfriend for over 3 years now and we have been sleeping together for almost that long...but the sex just isn't good. we have tried alot of different things...and he likes it but, well i dont hate it but its not what i would like it to be. we have even tried him going down for like almost a hour and then haveing sex but still not good. could this be a deal breaker when we get older and decide to marry, or will it get better as we are together longer?
